Do Men Think Less Of Women That Have Sex On The First Date?

Our friends at Cosmopolitan magazine are notorious for relationship polling; we understand most men refuse to read this amazing women-targeted magazine so in the name of research and intelligence the MaxWrapUp staff fell on that grenade for you.

Cosmo found that whopping 83% of women (almost 1,000 18 to 35 year-olds) believe men will think less of them if they have sex on the first date. Lucky for these women that isn’t reality. The fact is that the majority of guys, an estimated 67%, maintain they absolutely don’t.

Cosmo suggests this skepticism comes from the insecurities woman have about having sex. “If you know that sleeping with someone won’t bring out your best or will make you needy, it’s a good idea to wait,” says New York based relationship author Andrea Syrtash, “However, don’t wait because you think the guy will lose respect or interest. Wait because of how it will affect you.”

In most cases having sex in a heterosexual relationship is a woman’s decision; it’s not about men. The stigma of the term slut and harlot is dying a rapid death in the age of sexting, Netflix-and-chill, and hookup apps.
